Oneida Total Integrated Enterprises (OTIE) is actively seeking a highly motivated Fire Protection Engineer to join our team. As a Fire Protection Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing fire protection systems for diverse facilities and infrastructure projects. You will ensure compliance with fire safety standards and regulations while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to provide innovative solutions that protect people, property, and assets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and Engineering: Develop comprehensive fire protection systems, including fire suppression, alarm, sprinkler, and passive fire protection measures for commercial, industrial, and government projects.
- Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure all fire protection systems adhere to local, state, and national fire safety codes and standards, including NFPA, IBC, and other relevant regulations.
- Project Oversight: Manage fire protection design projects from initiation through completion, coordinating with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure timely delivery and adherence to budget and scope.
- Testing and Commissioning: Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of fire protection systems to ensure functionality, compliance, and safety.
- Collaboration: Work closely with architects, construction teams, and environmental engineers to integrate fire protection systems into facility designs.
- Maintenance and Inspections: Conduct periodic inspections, audits, and performance assessments of fire protection systems, providing recommendations for upgrades or maintenance as necessary.
- Emergency Response Planning: Support the development of emergency response plans, including fire evacuation strategies and coordination with local fire departments.
- Documentation and Reporting: Prepare detailed fire protection designs, compliance reports, risk assessments, and other technical documentation.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience (if no DOD) in fire protection engineering, 3 years of experience with DOD preferred.
- Certifications: Fire Protection Engineer (FPE) certification is a must.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or other engineering design software. Strong understanding of fire safety codes, including NFPA and IBC standards.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with fire modeling and simulation software.
- Knowledge of international fire protection standards for global projects.
- Familiarity with environmental sustainability and its impact on fire protection systems.
